1. Introduction

FocusCapsule ("we", "us", "our") is a productivity application that helps you maintain focus through timed sessions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our application.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

• Account information: email address and password (or OAuth provider data if you sign in with Google or GitHub).
• Profile data: your chosen avatar, display preferences, and streak information.
• Usage data: focus session history (task names, durations, completion status), reflections, and task lists you create.
• Analytics data: we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymized usage statistics such as pages visited, features used, session duration, and general interaction patterns. This data is collected using cookies. Google Analytics may also collect your IP address, browser type, and device information.
• Integration data: if you connect Notion, we store a reference to your selected pages. We do not read or store the content of your Notion pages.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and operate the FocusCapsule application.
• To track your focus streaks, session history, and personal statistics.
• To improve the application based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
• To send you transactional emails (e.g., password reset, email confirmation).

4. Cookies & Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how users interact with FocusCapsule. GA4 uses cookies to collect anonymized data about your usage patterns. This helps us improve the application.

The analytics cookies we use include:

• _ga: used to distinguish unique users. Expires after 2 years.
• _ga_*: used to persist session state. Expires after 2 years.

You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time by declining cookies when prompted. You can also change your preference later through the cookie settings available in the application footer.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: for authentication and data storage. Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure.
• Google Analytics: for anonymized usage analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel: for hosting and performance monitoring.
• Notion API: only if you choose to connect your Notion workspace.

6. Data Retention

Your account data and session history are retained as long as you have an active account. You can delete all your data at any time by using the "Reset Profile" option in Settings, which permanently erases your streak data, session history, reflections, tasks, and integration cache. 7. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Object to processing of your data.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication through Supabase, and limited access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

FocusCapsule is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users through the application. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when this policy was last revised.
